Have you entered our exciting competition yet?
The good sorts at Air New Zealand and DNA Magazine have teamed up to offer anyone flying from Australia the opportunity to win back the cost of their flights to Gay Ski Week QT! This means you’ll have extra cash to splash when you reach Queenstown, whether that’s on a case of Gibbston Valley Wines or buying some flash new ski goggles, we’ll leave up to you. Enter right here, right now for you chance to win.
Speaking of arrivals, we couldn’t start the Southern Hemisphere’s largest gay and lesbian Winter Pride event without one heck of a welcome party and that’s what our legendary Broken Shed Opening Party (27 th August 2016) is all about.
One of Queenstown’s favourite bars, The World Bar, are this year’s glamorous hosts alongside New Zealand’s very own Broken Shed Vodka. Doors open at 7pm and we’ll have a drink and some nibbles ready for you at arrival. Everyone will be there; this is your chance to catch up with old friends or make new ones. Even Vanessa, our local mayor, showed up last year to kick start the party.
We’re also thrilled to announce that (after a year out) the fabulous DJ Haylenise is flying over from Melbourne to provide some serious dance tunes. Haylenise rocked the crowds at GSWQT 2012, ‘13 and ’14, and earlier this year was a huge hit at Sydney Mardi Gras.
She’s also played regular gigs across Australasia including Disgraceland, Rogue Dance, and Sundaylicious, as well as holding residence in Eve Nightclub Melbourne. If you need a bit of music to brighten up your afternoon, we recommend checking out some of her music on Mixcloud https://www.mixcloud.com/hayley-maree/uploads/
Playing uplifting vocal/ house music, DJ Haylenise and the Broken Shed Opening Party will be the ideal way to start off your week in Queenstown. Can’t wait to see you all there!
